How FMI 360° Feedback Advantage works
FMI 360° Feedback is a web-based 360° survey tool that makes the multi-rater feedback process fast and enjoyable. There are several steps in the process from survey design to follow-up.

  • FMI 360° Feedback process — individuals or teams choose to participate in the multi-rater feedback process. This initial step often includes a kick-off meeting or announcement to get everyone clear and excited about the process. A schedule or deadline is usually set for completion of feedback collection so summary reports can be prepared for review. The survey administrator, participant, or both can add names to the list of raters.

  • Survey content — the multi-rater feedback instrument includes survey questions focused on specific areas of performance or behavior. The standard FMI 360° Feedback tool assesses eight leadership behaviors based on the Peak Leader model development by FMI. The survey tool can drill down into each of the eight leadership behaviors plus World View to gain additional insight into performance needs. Companies can also add to or replace the survey content depending on their organization's needs. Raters can score the individual and provide comments on each survey item. At the end of each section, raters can add comments relating to the category of behavior under assessment.

  • Survey programming and process design — FMI 360° Feedback support team works with your organization to distribute the survey instrument online and to guide participants through the process of completing the self-assessment and contacting other raters for feedback. Reminders to raters are included in the automated system.

  • Administration — FMI's support staff typically handles all of the multi-rater feedback process details, including answering questions and resolving issues. The technical staff ensures that the system operates properly to capture the feedback accurately for later use. Your organization can take over the administrative process if you prefer to manage it yourself for implementation or privacy matters.

  • Feedback reports — the feedback from the multi-raters comprises the summary reports, which are available electronically to participants or system administrators. Printed documents are available for meetings or coaching sessions where the feedback is part of the review process. Other reports are available as needed to identify key strengths and areas of challenge for individuals, teams, or the entire organization.

  • Follow-up and support after the survey — FMI staff can arrange for follow-up activities such as action planning or coaching sessions to help participants interpret their feedback results and take appropriate next steps. FMI can also prepare your staff to handle these follow-up activities as part of your training and development initiative.
